Blue flag grows 24-30" tall. In early to midsummer, it blooms with beautiful indigo and violet flowers marked with a creamy yellow. Requires full sun to partial shade. Should be planted in one or two large clumps for best results. Water depth-moist to maximum 6".
Juncus effsus
The soft rush grows 2-4 feet tall. Grows in dense clumps of a few to several hundred leafless stems, spreads rapidly with upright, narrow green spiky foliage. Bushy flower clusters along the stem appear July through August. Requires full sun to partial shade Water depth-maximum 5".
Juncus effusus spiralis
The striking corkscrew rush grows 12-18" tall with spirally twisted dark green wiry stems. Small brown-green inconspicuous flower clusters appear in summer. Excellent in dried floral arrangements. Requires full sun to partial shade. Water depth-maximum 2".
Juncus inflexus
Blue rush is an attractive, clump forming plant with upright, narrow, blue-grey spiky foliage. It grows 2' tall and requires full sun to partial shade. Water depth-maximum 5".
