BROADCAST SEEDING

Broadcast seeding is the method of spreading seed on the ground with a cyclone spreader. It is usually accompanied by mixing the seed into the soil with harrows. It is the most economical method of applying seed to large scale areas of land however this process still leaves your site with exposed soils, and some form of mulch for erosion control is recommended. This method of seeding is commonly used on County road ditchs and Highway projects covering large areas providing economical best effort results.

DRILL SEEDING
 

Drillseeding is the method of mechanically pressing seed into the ground. As in agriculture a tractor mounted machine moves across prepaired soils and presses seed from a hopper into the ground at a set depth of 0.1 to 25 mm. No harrowing or further soil preparation is required after drillseeding is completed. However, this process still leaves your site with exposed soils, and some form of mulch for erosion control is recommended.
